About Sun, Hsin-Yu
Hailing from Taipei, Sun graduated from the National Taiwan Normal University's graduate art department. During her student days, she won several prizes in illustration competitions. She has illustrated stamps, traveled to the source of the Yangtze River, stayed in America, Canada, and Shanghai, and toured Europe and Asia. Having worked all sorts of visual design jobs over the year, she has won several awards for her works: Day Trip and Afternoon won the Xingyi Children's Literature Award successively; The Persimmon-Colored Streetlight won the 35th Taiwanese Jin Ding Award; finally, in 2015, A Tour of Beijing won the Italian Bologna Ragazzi Award (making him the first Taiwanese picture book maker to win the Italian young adult non-fiction special prize) and the German White Ravens Award. She is currently focusing on illustration design and picture book making.
Her illustrated works include A Tour of Beijing, A Tour of Hong Kong, Xiaomi Has a Little Bag (published by Hsiao Lu Publishing), and more.
